Dye transfer sale: Ctein has written to say,
"I've shipped the prints to everyone who's paid me. Everyone who has paid should have either received their prints or a tracking number from the USPS. Anyone who hasn't received one or the other should get in touch with me at [email protected] ."
We've heard from several people who have already received their prints and they were glowing in their praise and satisfaction. Our print sales over the years have been a lot of fun and very gratifying. Thanks again to all.
Large-format printer for sale: Ctein, as you know, is moving to Montana soon; he's gonna be a dental floss tycoon. Er, no, I mean he's moving Ireland soon, and it has nothing to do with dental floss. I lifted this from his most recent newsletter: "I am still looking for someone who is interested in buying my 44-inch Epson P9000 printer. I'd like to keep it until shortly before I leave. It should be someone local (this is not shippable!) and I'm offering it at an extremely good price, like less than half what a new one would cost, with over a grand worth of ink and paper."
[He means it when he says it's not shippable. It weighs in excess of 300 lbs. and it's huge—when Epson ships these to trade shows, the reusable crate they use costs as much as the printer itself. For this reason, the sale would have to be local in the San Francisco area. —Mike the Ed.]
"I've also got a 17-inch Epson P800 printer for sale. Available for immediate pick-up with a decent ink supply, and I think you'll agree the price is right at $500."
Same email address as above.

If I lived anywhere near, I'd be going for that P800 printer in a heartbeat. SE PA is a wee bit too far to travel.

Or Ctein could donate the printer(s) to a local photography/arts program, and get a tax write/off. When I’ve upgraded machines, that’s what I’ve done, and the faculty and students have been extremely grateful, putting the printers to very good use.

I never had you pegged as a Frank Zappa fan, but I am impressed!

I got mine today, all the way up in Canada. I did have to pay a 25% tariff (&taxes) to bring them across the border, though. Ugh...

Great to hear everyone received their prints and was happy! As for Ctein’s printers, it’s an amazing offer for anyone local looking to start a professional printing project.

The P800 has been sold. Thank you!
Still have the P9000, if anyone knows of anyone in the SF Bay Area who wants one.
