As someone who who has been a chronic perfectionist (this is NOT self-praise - perfectionism has been a barrier to me doing all the things non-perfectionists have already done), I’m recently enamoured of a bastardised phrase my personal trainer* has gifted me: “Practice makes progress.”
(* my attendance to a PT is attendance to mental health issues, and I’ve been fortunate to find in it that strength training dissolves a certain Cartesian duality - I couldn’t raise my mental health with mental therapy, but the body has a brute force way of lifting everything as one.)
