"The pool table is one of the best purchases I've ever made, though, even if it provoked a number of readers into cancelling their Patreon contributions."

Really? Why? They thought you should use their contributions only for a computer (which you have), groceries, utilities, or the mortgage?

It's not like you're printing and mailing a paper newsletter, after all. How did they say you should have used their contributions?

Geoff must be single. My wife quickly decided my life-quest for a glorious library was an unproductive waste of money. A quarter of my bookshelves disappeared and many books went away. Thank God for my Kindle!

[Hope I'm not speaking out of school, but Geoff and Mrs. Geoff have been happily married for many decades. However, he has more than once remarked on her tolerance. --Mike]

I object to the use of "coffee-table" in relation to large books of art or photography, as if it were a technical term, rather than (originally, anyway) a dismissive way of describing books made and bought merely for ostentatious show by wealthy airheads who find reading tiresome.

I also dislike "man-cave", for similar reasons.

I won't be cancelling my Patreon sub, though. *This* time... ;)

More seriously, it’s interesting, the older I get the *more* I am obsessed with photography.
