Mike, you like cars. Why can't the manufacturers offer us a DSLR that is the equivalent of the 'racing' or 'sports' versions of BMWs and Porsches (i.e. production models with all the unnecessary mod-cons stripped away)?
Personally, I'd be pleased with a Leica R7 that was digital (strangely enough a camera owing much to the Minolta XD7/XD11 of Calvin's post).
