The Online Photographer is soliciting book reviews from readers who'd like to write one (or who already have). I'm interested in hearing your opinion about books you know. It can be any sort of book about photography—monographs, biographies, technical titles (traditional or digital), or art or craft-process books that have a bearing on photography or that might be useful for photographers. If that piques your interest, please click on the "Write for Us" tab in the resources column at right for more information.
In a semi-related news item, I'm glad to see that Eric Etheridge, who has started a feature on his blog entitled "The Missing Criticism," has reprinted in .PDF format Tod Papageorge's long out-of-print essay "Walker Evans and Robert Frank: An Essay on Influence." As I don't have to remind those of you who read it in college, the essay is a high point among writings on 20th-century American photography. It's one of those essays that we should all be familiar with, and a highly recommended download if you don't already have it. And it seems particularly well-timed, given my exchange of shots-across-the-bows with Allan Nadel on American Thinker the other day.
